Suzuki Approves TÜV SÜD PSB Laboratory for Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Testing
In November 2013, Suzuki has approved TÜV SÜD PSB laboratory to perform VOC testing for their automotive component and material certification program. This means that TÜV SÜD PSB will be commissioned to test for VOCs for Suzuki’s new car models.
VOCs are organic chemicals that have high vapor pressure at room temperature conditions. In vehicles, they are found in glues and sealants which fix plastics, woods, leathers and textile components in passenger compartment. To date, low-emitting, non-toxic interiors are not available, thus it is very important that car manufacturers test their vehicle interiors to ensure that the level of VOCs emitted is within acceptable, industry levels.
